Last night at UFC 214 Jon “Bones” Jones set the internet ablaze, calling out Brock Lesnar just moments after capturing his second Light Heavyweight Championship from all-time great Daniel Cormier.

ESPN, the New York Times, CBS Sports and other mainstream media outlets have already jumped on the hype train, buzzing about a potential “Super Fight” between two of the biggest draws in MMA. While Jones enters the conversation with a profound advantage as the greatest light heavyweight fighter of all time, it would be foolish to completely dismiss Lesnar’s chances as a former UFC Heavyweight Champion.

In a great article from ESPN’s Arash Markazi covering the bout and it’s potential pay-per-view buyrate, it appears that the champ is taking the WWE Universal Champion very seriously. Jones is also taking some inspiration from fellow fighter Conor McGregor, who will step into a boxing ring against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather this August for perhaps the biggest pay day in combat sports history.

“We’re serious about it. I think it would be great for the MMA world and it would definitely bring more general public to the sport of mixed martial arts, and that’s what we need. We need to expand our sport, so why not be the guy who plays a role in that?”

“I never thought in my time as a champion that I would see fighters making $100 million or whatever he’s making in this Mayweather fight. It’s been an inspiration that you can do it. It’s like the first guy who landed on the moon. Now everyone wants to go to the moon. It’s like the first guy who ran the five-minute mile. Now everyone sees that it’s possible, and that’s what McGregor has done for me.”

If both sides can come to terms, and if both Jones and Lesnar can avoid any further issues with the USADA until 2018, who do you think has the greatest chance to emerge victorious from this UFC Super Fight?
