On what he thinks of multi-man main event matches like the Fatal 4-Way for the Universal Championship that has been announced for SummerSlam:
EB: I really am not a fan. A lot of it has to do with the reason I really don’t like gimmick matches. Often times Fatal 4-Ways, six-man tags and any other combination of multiple contestants in a match usually suggests that there’s just not a great storyline and that nobody is really rooting for anybody. At least sufficiently enough that it can stand alone as “good vs evil” or a traditional story arch. To make up for the fact that there is no compelling story involving three or more people you just throw them all in a match and call it a Fatal 4-Way.
On what about the announced RAW main event for SummerSlam he does like:
EB: I think if there is any anticipation right now involving any of those four gentlemen it probably has to do with Brock and Samoa Joe than anybody else. It’s the most recent storyline and I think it’s the most compelling one. I think Joe has done a phenomenal job and there is some believability with Joe. It just seems everything Joe gets near has a different element of credibility and believability to it. I’m just not a big fan of Fatal 4-Ways unless there is a hell of a great reason to do it.
