Cody Rhodes Talks ROH Crowd Booing Daniels
Ring of Honor World Champion Cody Rhodes joined Busted Open with Dave Lagreca and Bully Ray yesterday ahead of his IWGP Heavyweight Championship match with Kazuchika Okada in Long Beach, CA this Saturday.
He commented on facing Okada, saying this a very polarizing match as Okada is 100% pro wrestling and he’s almost all “sports entertainment.” He offered some kind words for Okada but also gave some trash talk saying “someone needs to tell that son of a bitch it don’t rain in LA and I’m not afraid of the Rainmaker one bit.” He also commented on what advice his father would have given to him heading into to arguably the biggest match of his career. That audio can be found here:
He also talked about winning the ROH World Championship from Christopher Daniels last Friday at ROH Best in the World. He was asked about the crowd seemingly being behind him the whole match despite being the heel and the crowd going as far as to boo Daniels. Cody says Daniels had what he likes to call “boo-boo face” during the match and crowd picked up on it, and that they knew something special was happening that night. He also commented on the future of NJPW in the US after this weekend’s set of debut shows, saying “They need to announce the next A-markets they’re coming to. The country is hungry for live New Japan action.” That audio can be found here:
