Backstage Update on How WWE Will Be Releasing The Mae Young Classic Episodes, When The Finals Will Air

According to PWInsider.com, WWE currently plans to release a preview episode of The Mae Young Classic on August 20th, with the first round of the tournament then being released via the video on demand section of WWE Network during the final week of August. Fans will be able to “binge watch” all the episodes of round one when it is released.

The second round of the tournament will then be released during the first week of September. WWE originally discussed releasing it during SummerSlam week, but ended up not wanting the tournament to be overshadowed by everything going on during SummerSlam week in New York City.

The finals of the tournament are now set to air live on WWE Network on September 12th. WWE is taping Smackdown Live in Las Vegas that night, so it’s possible the finals will air live from Vegas.

As noted, all rounds of the 32-competitor tournament (with the exception of the finale) will tape on Thursday, July 13th and Friday, July 14th at Full Sail University.
