WWE Extreme Rules

The Miz is the new Intercontinental Champion after defeating Dean Ambrose in the opening contest at WWE Extreme Rules.

The Miz nearly won twice with the stipulation of Ambrose getting disqualified, although it would have been a questionable call as Maryse and Miz both tried to get Ambrose disqualified. The referee realize Maryse slapped Miz and refused to call for the bell, then Miz shoved Ambrose into the ref while he threw Maryse out of the match. The ref thought that was intentional on Ambrose’s part and teased calling for the bell, but Miz hit Skull Crushing Finale as Ambrose begged him not to call the match.

Miz is now a seven time Intercontinental Champion, only trailing Chris Jericho for all time reigns.
