Backstage, Kassius Ohno says he had a shot against Bobby Roode for the NXT title and he fell down. But when you fall down you get up. Andrade “Cien” Almas walk in and calls Ohno a dog. Ohno challenges Almas to a match next week.
Backstage, Rodrick Strong says this is why he is here and this is what he has worked for. Strong’s music starts to play and he walks out through the curtain.
Backstage, Hideo Itami says he respects Strong but Itami is going to Takeover… and Strong is going to go to sleep.
NXT Title Number One Contenders Match: Roderick Strong vs Hideo Itami
Strong takedown Itami but Itami rolls out of it. Itami takes Strong down and locks in a head scissors. Strong nips up out of it. Itami goes for a head kick but Strong avoids it. Strong tries a leaping knee but Itami avoids that. Itami picks up Strong for the GTS but Strong escapes and retreats. Itami lets Strong know he was that close.
