Jerry “The King” Lawler –
Lawler says he is really proud of the next inductees. You can say he sort of had a hand in creating them. you might say they are the definition of a hot tag.
Jim Cornette-
Cornette introduces himself to the crowd: “Hello, I am Jim Cornette, this is a live mic, and the sound guy is on Xanax”. Cornette goes on to says that there is no way this speech is going to live up to the hype. He could read the Gettysburg address and people will still go home disappointed, but he is going to do his best. Many years ago Lawler had an idea. He saw the writing on the wall. He has two talented wrestlers named Robert Morton and Robert Gibson. Lawler gave them tights and all types of gear and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express debut. It was more than a gimmick. They were special. The problem is that the people of Memphis had been watching the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express since they were kids. It wasn’t until a man named Bill Watts brought them to Mid-South Wrestling. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express were Justin Bieber before Justin Bieber. They were an instant sensation. Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson had more sex on the way to the ring than most people did in a year! The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express had guts and everyone admired them. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express were quicker and smart than anyone they faced. If you managed to get one up on them, Ricky Morton would sell like a champ. Morton would get the crowd into a fervor. Robert Gibson would tag in and clean up. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express would hit that double dropkick and it was over.
