This past Tuesday night on Talking Smack Daniel Bryan made an off hand comment about how he would be returning to the ring in, “about a year and a half.” Which is right around when his WWE contract is set to expire.

The most recent The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes the following in regards to a potential in-ring wrestling return for Daniel Bryan:
- Bryan was “rushed” in to a retirement speech by Vince McMahon
- It’s unlikely that WWE will release him from his contract
- One of Bryan’s goals is has been to work in CMLL and work an angle building to a hair vs. hair match at their anniversary show
- Bryan has a new ring style in mind that would be lower risk while still allowing him to have interesting matches
Bryan has noted in several interviews, including one with Jonathan Coachman on ESPN last September, that he has been cleared by several concussion experts to return to the ring.
