Becky Lynch On The Atmosphere At Smackdown Live, Competition With The RAW Women’s Division

Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch talked with Between 2 Bells about the brand split and the competition with the RAW women’s division. You can listen to the entire interview here. Highlights below:

On the brand split

“My initial instinct was really, is there enough people?  And Oh my gosh I’m not going to see some of my friends.  I knew I was going to be split up from Charlotte anyway.  I knew that was going to happen and most likely Sasha as well… I think there was a time when at one stage with the women’s division I think there was only a rotation of about four people and this was when it was both Raw and Smackdown.  How are they going to.. maybe five, how are they going to work in two different brands?  But we have and it’s working really well and it’s awesome.  I love it.  I love the brand split… It’s driven up a little bit of competition between the two shows and Smackdown is better.”

On competition between RAW and Smackdown

“Oh absolutely and there always is. You know there always is and there always has been and I think that’s what’s been the driving force especially the four horsewomen, but this whole movement. Everybody wants to be… better. Everybody wants to have the best match and that’s the same thing w/ Raw and Smackdown… We’re all the same company, but it’s that little imaginary competition of ‘Yeah, well we’re going to be the better show.’ We will be the better show and we are the better show. That’s always been a big thing and in such a good way because you seem them and say ‘Oh man. That was such a good match.’ I’m so happy for them. I want to have a better match.”
