An enthusiastic Miz opens the show as a replacement for the absent Daniel Bryan. He introduces Renee Young and tells her that for the night he is Mike Mizanin.
He asks Renee Young if Daniel Bryan at least texted her to inform her of his absence of if he just “big leagued her?” Renee Young says she would not say that he “big leagued her” but she guesses that he was off on assignment.
The Miz says that it was rude of Daniel Bryan to just not show up and that he is a bad general manager. Renee Young tries defend Daniel Bryan and says that the WWE Universe thinks he’s a great general manager and she agrees. She begins to tell him that whenever he comes on the show he is always rude to Daniel Bryan. But he cuts her off and tells her that the Miz is rude. Mike Mizanin has never been on the show and is doing a great job.
The conversation about Smackdown begins. He recaps Renee Young opening the show and then Alexa Bliss’ comments about Young’s outfit. Renee Young did not understand why Alexa Bliss had to attack her. She believes that her fashion sense is something that she brings to the table.
Renee Young asks Mike Mizanin who he thinks is the best female competitor on Raw and Smackdown. Of course his response was Maryse. Renee Young tells him that Maryse is not a real competitor. But Mizanin disagrees because she does a great job of helping is friend The Miz win.
First Guest: Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler comes on set with a NWO shirt on. He speaks to Renee Young but initially does not say anything to Mike Mizanin. He tells Young that Maryse has won the Intercontinental Championship for The Miz.
Ziggler asks Mizanin how fast Maryse will be able to climb the later to win the match at TLC. Mizanin tells him that he does not think that The Miz needs his wife to win. She is only there to love and support him and to make it the most prestigious title.
Dolph Ziggler decides that he does not want to answer any question from Mizanin. So, Renee Young has to ask Ziggler questions for Mizanin. She asks him if he thinks the title is at in the best place it has ever been in. Dolph Ziggler does not believe that because the greats did not need their wives to win the title for them every time. Ziggler believes he was a great fighting champion but Mizanin disagrees because he Miz is an example of a great fighting champion.
Dolph Ziggler says he is excited about TLC because it is the end of the Miz and Dolph Ziggler and that they’ll be able to “beat the living hell out of each other.”
After Dolph Ziggler leaves Mike Mizanin continues to talk about him. He says all of the previous comments were just words and that is what Dolph Ziggler does. He says that Ziggler is the type of wrestler who gets fans to get behind him but it means nothing because he is going against The Miz. He believes that he is awesome and there is nothing that anyone can say about it including Dolph Ziggler.
Renee Young moves the show along to some of the other matches at TLC. They talk about Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton versus Heath Slater and Rhyno. They are both surprised that Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton are still working together.
Second Guest: Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch comes on with ice wrapped around her beck. She says that she has a spin bruise but she will be ready to fight on Sunday.
Mizanin ask Becky Lynch if she has every faced anyone like Alexa Bliss. She immediately responds with yes because she has faced the very best to get to the top. She thinks Alexa Bliss is amazing but she has not accomplished the same things that she has.
Becky Lynch says that she was poked in the eye before she was pushed on the table. While interviewing Becky Lynch, Renee Young gets a text message from Daniel Bryan. He first tells Mizanin that he is not fooling anyone and then he makes it official that Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss will have a tables match at TLC. Mizanin reminds Becky Lynch that if tonight had have been for the title that she would have lost. But she says that she will go through a million tables to keep the title.
Renee Young asks Becky Lynch if she thinks that the opportunities that the Raw women are getting is separating them from the Smackdown women. She does but she believes it is because the Smackdown women’s division is new. She believes that her division will get there though.
Before Beck Lynch leaves she has a message for Alexa Bliss. She says that since Alexa Bliss speaks in Disney references that she has one for her. She will make her WWE’s resident bleeding beauty.
Renee Young asks Mike Mizanin if he thinks that all of the opportunities that Raw’s women are getting is putting them ahead of Smackdown’s women. He says that the problem goes back to the general manager. He says that the right people for each role needs to be found.
He also says that there are good people sitting in the locker room not getting a chance while James Ellsworth is in the main event. He believes that Daniel Bryan like James Ellsworth so much because it reminds of himself, the everyday man. He goes back to wrestlers not getting an opportunity and uses Apollo Crews, Curt Hawkins, and Zack Ryder as examples. He says that nobody knows anything about them and it should not be that way.
Third Guest: AJ Styles
As Renee Young is asking what the chatter is like in the locker room about James Ellsworth, AJ Styles comes up. He says that nobody likes him except for Dean Ambrose. Mizanin tells AJ Styles that he is worried about him in a TLC match against Dean Ambrose. AJ Styles says he knows how to use his tools. He does not think it is hard to knock Dean Ambrose down but it is hard to keep him down.
AJ Styles tells Mizanin that he is happy that he is on the show instead of Daniel Bryan. He also says that he won’t yell at Daniel Bryan anymore because he answers to Shane McMahon who let everything get out of control. But he’s not worried because he will find a way to win at TLC.
