This week I will be reviewing TWO WWE Elite figures from Elite 45, Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley, aka The Dudley Boyz!

Overall, I’d say these figures are pretty nice. They have a few flaws, which I’ll get into, but for Elite Dudleyz, their very first and probably only Elites, they are pretty cool figures.

Let’s take a look at Bubba Ray first! Looking at Bubba in the packaging you can see he comes with two pairs of glasses as well as a breakaway table behind him, which may be a little hard to see here. Looking at his box you can see the large image of him as well as stats and his title belt accomplishments. Also in the set is D-Von, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Lex Luger and William Regal. This set is currently available on RingsideCollectibles.com, Amazon.com and at Walmart.

Looking at Bubba out of the packaging you can see he’s wearing one of his latest WWE attires. It looks very similar to his older red/black/white attires he wore back in the Attitude Era; as he comes with alternate pairs of glasses to mimic that era. My only complaint looking at this figure here is the fact his arms are freakishly long in my opinion. They just look too long for his body but perhaps that’s just me.

The detail on this figure is fantastic though. They even put the fat wrinkle on the back of his head. You can see the tattoo work, the logos on his outfit/boots and even his tattoos on both arms. Not to mention his head scan looks pretty good, too.

Looking at his scan up close you can see it looks like him, once again pointing out the wrinkle on the back of his head and the detail in his hair. Here’s where one of my main complaints come in. It’s the glasses. It’s great he has two different styles, that’s awesome, but they’re way too thick on his face. Granted the figure is small so it would be hard for Mattel to make thin glasses but these just look goofy in my opinion. They also don’t sit on his face that well, which makes him look even goofier. I’m just not a fan.

Besides the glasses and the long arms I feel it’s a decent figure. As I mentioned before it could be his only Elite one as well since they’re no longer on TV.

Now let’s take a look at D-Von in the packaging. As you can see he, too, comes with several pairs of glasses and a table behind him as well. On the top right corner and the back it has the RAW logo as it’s based off of one of their RAW appearances, much like Bubba’s box above, and has some statistics about him, too. He’s from the same lineup as Bubba, obviously, so no need to get into that again.

Looking at D-Von out of the packaging you can see he is a pretty decent figure. I noticed mine has some little paint issues on his right hand, which his Basic figure had as well, so perhaps there’s a quality control issue with his right hands from Mattel. If you are buying at the store I’d recommend inspecting his hands before purchasing if you’re super anal about your figures. There’s a ton of detail on this figure, even down to the fat wrinkles in the back of his head.

I’m not a fan of the glasses on D-Von either, they look a little better on him (the second pair) than Bubba’s do, but they’re still too thick. Looking at all his detail you can see it in his clothing especially. The camo designs to the shirt designs to even the wrinkles in his shirt are just great aspects that really make this figure pop. He has finger tape besides wrist tape as well as his tattoos on both arms. Not to mention he has a rubber necklace with some detail engraved in it to make it look more authentic. I’m sure you can pull this over his head if you wanted to but I haven’t attempted it. Even his boots have wrinkles and details like “3D” on the left boot. As I said before you can see how Mattel went all out on these two, which is awesome!

One interesting thing about this D-Von and I noticed it on his Basic, too, is that he has really pointy elbows that extend over the joint. When you bend his elbow you can see this extrude a bit, which is a little weird. It’s just the way they designed his elbow joints for some reason but it does look a little odd.

Anyway, let’s take a look at the breakaway tables both of them come with. I apologize if it’s a little hard to see in these pics as for some reason Mattel gave them solid black tables, which I don’t recall them using in WWE. If you’re unfamiliar with these tables they breakaway in the center, which can easily be put back together as they fasten. The legs of the table fold up like a real one would, too, which is cool. Not to mention the WWE logo is engraved on the top, which may be a little annoying for people who want their accessories to be very accurate. If that’s the case I recommend ordering the ultimate breakaway tables (seen in the above 3D photo) from RingsideCollectibles.com as those break into more pieces for more realism and don’t have silly markings like the WWE logo on them.

Overall, I would recommend picking up these figures of the Dudley Boyz if you want Elites of them. They have great pose-ability with all their articulation. Since they are no longer on television I feel we won’t be seeing many figures, if any, of them from this point. It would be cool to see classic versions of them, such as ECW, but I’m assuming Mattel gave us the “Flashback” versions via these glasses that come with them. The biggest downfalls to these are those glasses, as they just look ridiculous in my opinion. Be careful you don’t lose them, as they’re small and don’t secure onto their faces. The figures still look nice, minus Bubba’s long arms, so pick them up if you get a chance!
