Goldberg On His WCW Streak Being Organic, If He’s Feeling Nervous Heading Into WWE Survivor Series

Bill Goldberg was a guest on today’s Good Morning Football show on NFL Network, promoting this weekend’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view. Goldberg talks about his career highlights including ‘the streak’, preparing for Brock Lesnar and more. You can read a few transcribed excerpts below:

Goldberg on how the streak in WCW was organic:

“It was organic. The coolest part of it — we didn’t know what was going on. Week after week, we gave the people what they wanted to see. In the day and age of television where you could actually do that, and you could satiate the public, doing it in an entertaining way, we just did what they wanted. So, each and every week, we listened to the people. We fed… it was like feeding Romans to the lions, and that’s basically what it was, people enjoyed it. It was something different.

I’m still something different. I’m not a guy that comes out and brags and does goofy stuff; I’m the ‘Mike Tyson of wrestling’. I come in and I smash people and I go home and eat dinner.”

Goldberg on if he’s feeling nervous about his in-ring return at WWE Survivor Series:

“Hell yeah I’m nervous; look I’m sweating. I’m very nervous all the time, but like I say, if you’re nervous then it means you’re alive, it means you’re at the top of your game. If I wasn’t nervous I’d flip out — I wouldn’t know what was going on. The setting in Toronto is going to be a little strange; I can’t predict what’s gonna happen, I can’t predict how they’re gonna feel. I can only say it’s gonna be a special moment for everybody involved. At the end of the day I’ve got to bring it home.”
