Shoots Down Asuka – NXT Takeover Rumors
As noted, there were rumors that WWE initially wanted women other than Mickie James, possibly Trish Stratus, to face Asuka for the NXT Women’s Title at Takeover Toronto, but Stratus was unable to compete at the event. During today’s NXT Takeover media call, Triple H shot down rumors that WWE did not initially want Mickie James:
Triple H says rumors of other people attempted to get for match vs Asuka—says not true. He wanted Mickie James. She’s the person they wanted

Triple H Reveals Whether or Not Shawn Michaels is the New Performance Center Head Coach
Triple H also revealed that despite claims made by WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash, Shawn Michaels is not the new WWE NXT head coach:
Triple H on HBK at PC: “Contrary to what you’ve read, Shawn Michaels is not the head coach of PC. Matt Bloom is & will continue.”
