As we noted earlier today, an announcement was made that Challenge TV in the UK will be dropping TNA Impact Wrestling from their schedule starting in January 2017.
With The UK being a hot market for wrestling right now, and Kurt Angle recently praising the sovereign state as a hot bed for pro wrestling, fans might be scratching their heads as to why Impact Wrestling is being dropped by Challenge TV. Irish wrestling writer Garrett Kidney, who tracks TNA’s UK viewership, Tweeted out the following after today’s announcement.
It’s interesting to note in the figures below that Impact Wrestling failed to rank in Challenge TV’s most watched shows in recent months, with the Challenge TV lineup consisting of mainly game show reruns:
