WWE No Mercy Main Event Set, John Cena Returns On Smackdown, Mickey Gall Comments On WWE’s ‘Spoof’ Of CM Punk Fight

John Cena

John Cena returned to WWE Smackdown Live during the opening segment, cutting off new WWE World Champion AJ Styles’ celebration. Cena said Styles had something of his that he’d like back, and Styles took it as Cena wanting his armband back.

Cena reiterated and made a case for the WWE World Championship, but Dean Ambrose cut him off and got into a war of words with Cena. Ambrose argued about he should get his rematch, but Shane McMahon came down and put a stop to it, naming both of them as the number one contender.

Shane announced AJ Styles will defend in a triple threat against John Cena and Dean Ambrose at WWE No Mercy next month. Additionally, he said Ambrose and Cena will team up against Styles and a partner of his choosing tonight, if he could find one.

Mickey Gall

TMZ Sports will feature an interview with Mickey Gall that airs tonight, featuring Gall commenting on WWE ‘spoofing’ his UFC 203 against CM Punk.

Gall called the spot an honor, and said he loved it. He added that the spot wasn’t really about him, but more about the company’s feelings about Punk, so that was kinda crappy.

The spot in question happened at WWE Backlash, where we saw Dolph Ziggler and The Miz recreate the fight at WWE Backlash in the opening moments of their Intercontinental Championship match.
