Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon started tonight’s WWE RAW by addressing the title picture following WWE Battleground, and revealed they are introducing the brand new ‘WWE Universal Championship’.
Foley announced two fatal four way matches would take place on tonight’s show, with each match winner going on to face each other. The winner of that match would then go on to face Seth Rollins at WWE Summerslam, and the winner would be awarded the WWE Universal Championship.
The participants in the matches are: Sami Zayn, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Cesaro, Roman Reigns, Rusev, Kevin Owens, and Finn Balor.
Additionally, Stephanie and Foley announced Charlotte would defend her WWE Women’s Championship against the woman who made her tap out at WWE Battleground, Sasha Banks, on tonight’s show.
