A very hot topic since news broke that Brock Lesnar has now failed two drug tests related to UFC 200 is how WWE will react to the situation, if the company reacts at all. As of now, WWE has been very quiet on the subject of Lesnar’s drug test failures, and most recently Dave Meltzer reported WWE will not be suspending Lesnar prior to his match against Randy Orton at WWE SummerSlam.

Because of Lesnar’s unique schedule with WWE, it could have been very simple for the company to suspend him for 30 days prior to WWE SummerSlam, and it would go largely unnoticed since Lesnar typically takes that much time off and more between matches anyway. But WWE has yet to act, and an interesting theory as to why has been proposed by Mike Epsenhart of The Funniest Mailbag via PWInsider.com.

Epsenhart theorized that WWE might be waiting for Brock Lesnar to appeal the USADA drug test decisions, and only after his official appeal fails would WWE then consider taking action against The Beast Incarnate. Essentially, WWE would be waiting for the entire process to finish before they take action of their own.

USADA still has yet to make an official ruling on the Lesnar situation, and a punishment has yet to be levied on Lesnar where it pertains to UFC, so WWE theoretically has plenty of time to wait until they might feel compelled to respond to the situation. Should Lesnar end up being punished by USADA and suspended from UFC competition, it’s still very likely that WWE would reserve the right to issue a drug test of their own to Brock Lesnar, which by the time he takes one, he might be able to pass fairly easily.
