WWE RAW Results (7/18): Raw and Smackdown GM’s Named, a New Champion Crowned?

Shane says he needs someone who is all about breaking glass ceilings and being an underdog. Shane says he wonders who fits that mold… Flight of the Valkyries starts to play and Daniel Bryan walks out on the ramp. The crowd goes nuts. Steph goes to shake Bryan’s hand, but Bryan doesn’t bite. Bryan thanks the crowd and says he wasn’t sure if he would ever be able to come back because he loves wrestling too much. Then Shane called him and told him he wanted to make Smackdown about the Superstars and not the management. After that, Bryan realized he could come back. He needed to come back because Smackdown Live is the underdog in this fight. If they all join together, they will beat Raw every week. They have beaten The Authority before and they will do it again. Steph says underdogs have a losers’ mentality. She congratulates Shane for adding a B+ player for a B+ show. Shane looks at Steph and says no matter what, she will always be his little sister… and she had to marry a WWE Superstar to stay relevant.

Wow. Shots fired. At first glance, I was a bit hesitant about the brand split. The Mick Foley reveal is actually a more interesting one than the Daniel Bryan one. Reason being Steph is and always will be a natural heel. The dynamic on Raw between Steph and Foley would have to be contentious, which will lead to an interesting storyline. Think back to when Eric Bischoff and Stone Cold Steve Austin both ran Raw. This could be explosive.
