Former UFC Fighter Ryan Jimmo Dead at 34 After Fatal Hit-And-Run; Suspects Still At Large

MMA veteran and former UFC fighter Ryan Jimmo is dead, after a fatal hit-and-run incident this morning in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He was 34. 

According to MMAJunkie.com, the Canadian light heavyweight was run down by a “dark-colored pickup truck” driven by two Caucasian males, after a heated altercation around 2:30 a.m. outside of the H20 Lounge. As Jimmo was walking back towards his car, the pickup truck in question accelerated towards him and ran the fighter over, before speeding away. He was rushed to a local hopsital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

As of this reporting, the suspects have not been detained. 

Jimmo had his professional fight in 2007 for the Canadian-based Maximum Fighting Championship organization. Though he lost his first bout, he quickly rebounded with an impressive 16 fight winning streak before being signed by UFC in 2012. He finished 3-4 in UFC with one Knockout of the Night and one Performance of the Night, before being released in 2015.
