Ring of Honor Best In The World Results (6/24) – Lethal/Briscoe 2, ROH Legend Bids Farewell, Corino/Whitmer

The Cabinet Segment: 

Rhett Titus, Caprice Coleman and Kenny King complain about the fact they weren’t scheduled in a match for tonight’s PPV. Titus says that The Cabinet says that he doesn’t see any more real professional wrestlers just high spot guys. Titus says that The Cabinet will put a head lock on high spots. Cabinet makes fun of The Young Bucks, ACH, Bullet Club. King rips Kurt Angle for stealing their market campaign of Make Wrestling Great Again. King says that there’s a red dot on the forehead’s of every single Ring of Honor Champion. It’s not a marketing campaign it’s just a fact. 

Eight Match: Jay Lethal (c) w/Taeler Hendrix vs. Jay Briscoe for the Ring of Honor World Championship 

Both men adhere to the code of honor. Lethal and Briscoe locks up. Briscoe with a side headlock. Briscoe drops Lethal with a shoulder tackle. Briscoe backs to the side headlock. Lethal with a hip toss followed by a basement dropkick. Lethal applies a side headlock. Briscoe with a standing switch. Briscoe applies a wrist lock. Lethal drops Brisoce with a single leg lariat. Briscoe headbutts Lethal. Lethal lands a forearm. Lethal with a sunset flip for a two count. Lethal tosses Briscoe to the outside. Lethal with a suicide dive that sends Briscoe back first to the barricade. Lethal connects with another tope. Lethal ducks a clothesline and lands a side kick to the gut of Briscoe. Briscoe sends Lethal to the outside. Briscoe with two tope’s to the outside. Briscoe with a somersault plancha. Hendrix begins to attack Briscoe.

Referee Todd Sinclair ejects Hendrix from ringside. Hendrix yells at Nigel McGuinness. Hendrix gets into a tussle with a Mandy Leon. Lethal with a sleeper combination for a two count. Lethal goes for more pin attempts, but Briscoe continues to kick out at the count of one. Briscoe goes for a Jay Driller, but Lethal gets back on his feet. Briscoe plants Lethal with a powerbomb for a two count. Lethal reverses the Super Jay Driller in mid-air. Lethal with the Hail to the King, but Briscoe kicks out. Lethal applies the Figure Four Leg Lock. Briscoe plants Lethal with the Lethal Injection. Briscoe with the Jay Driller for a two count. Briscoe tries to send Lethal through the announce table with the Jay Driller. Lethal connects with the Lethal Injection to pickup the victory. After the match both men shake hands. 

Winner: Still Ring of Honor World Champion Jay Lethal
