According to Yahoo Sports!, a spokesperson for Ultimate Fighting Championship has denied a report posted by Jeremy Blotter of FloCombat claiming UFC has finalized a $4.2 billion sale.
Dave Sholler, the UFC’s vice president of public relations, athlete marketing and development, issued the following statement to Yahoo:
“FloCombat.com’s report indicating that the UFC has been sold is false. We’ve communicated that to our staff members tonight via an internal memo.”
Dana White declined to comment on the report, and Sholler would not answer any further questions about the current status of UFC.
If a $4.2 billion sale of UFC does indeed take place, it would be the largest sports sale in history, as last July, Forbes named the Real Madrid soccer team as the world’s most valuable sports franchise at $3.26 billion.
