On the reaction he is getting from fans in regards to his inspiring performance on American Ninja Warrior:

ZG: It’s insane. I am kind of in the middle of this hurricane now. I’ve never had this many eyeballs on me and my story. I think over the course of my WWE run there were certainly more cumulative eyeballs on me back in 2003. Right now, it’s so much so soon. Coming from zero and going to one hundred. It’s insane. It feels a lot different than it did back in 2003. I think the difference is that I am a more evolved person. I understand this has less to do with me and more to do with the message I am carrying. For me, there is a lot of gratitude that comes with that. I’m so happy that people are finding hope and inspiration from my story. It’s really a wonderful thing for me.

On whether or not he plans on returning to attempt the American Ninja Warrior course one more time:

ZG: There hasn’t been any talk of that at all. I do plan on continuing my ninja training. What happened, kind of as an unintended consequence of this, it was pretty intense ninja training for six weeks before the competition. I fell in love with it. This whole idea of the ninja training runs super deep in to the fabric of American culture. Much deeper than I thought it ever would. It’s much like a cross fit deal.

On a particularly inspiring story that came out of his appearance:

ZG: I wanted to tell you guys, please, I posted this video on my Facebook. It was this morning. This guy sent me a video of his daughter who is maybe three or four years old. She’s about to have her leg amputated. It’s a video of her watching my run and how excited and happy and enthusiastic about it. I had to share it with my Facebook audience. If you can share it with your audience too I think it’s really a neat thing. I’d like to have a lot of eye balls on it.
