Seth Rollins was the special guest on this week’s sit-down interview with Michael Cole this week; you can read some highlights and watch the interview below:
Cole talks to Rollins about the WWE Money In The Bank PPV being “Wrestlemania caliber” and asks about his knee. Rollins says he is ready to go, and Cole asks for his thoughts about being stripped of the title due to injury. Rollins says all he’s thought about is getting his title back, and he sat and watched someone else walking around with his title, and that’s Roman Reigns. Cole references Rollins and Reigns’ past, and Rollins says none of this bothers him, and you can say he sold out, but he took a risk that put him at the top. Rollins says he doesn’t want to share the spotlight and he makes sacrifices other guys won’t make, and his actions have paid off.
Cole asks if Roman Reigns is right about Rollins being scared, and Rollins says he’s using strategy, and he’s always two steps ahead. He says he held Roman’s hand through The Shield, but he’s always beaten Roman and that won’t change. Cole talks about Reigns’ championship run so far, and Rollins gives him some credit, but Reigns is an interim champion because he didn’t beat the real champion.
Cole asks if winning the title on Sunday will be a ‘new start’, and says his first title reign was criticized for being aligned with The Authority. Rollins says he earned every opportunity presented to him, and other guys might not want to ‘sell out’, but he won the title and kept it, and he never needed help. He says the same fans who criticized him were the same ones to wish him well in recovering from injury. Cole references Kane helping Rollins get Money In The Bank in the first place, but he says it’s all a chess game, and Reigns will find out why he is always going to be mentally ahead of him.
Cole says it’s appropriate that Money In The Bank is Sunday because Rollins won his first title this way, and asks what he thinks about someone cashing in this Sunday. Rollins says it’s not a good idea, and someone could try to do it, but the guys in the contract match will be in no shape to mess with him or Reigns. Cole says Kane did win and cash in on the same night, and asks if Rollins will leave Las Vegas with the title. Rollins says no matter what, he guarantees he will walk out of WWE Money In The Bank as WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
