More Details on ESPN’s Upcoming Ric Flair 30 For 30 Special, Director of the Project Revealed, Who Was Interviewed?, WWE Support, More

Sports Illustrated recently ran a piece revealing more details on the upcoming 30 for 30 special on WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

The SI piece reveals that “I Hate Christian Laettner” and “The Book Of Manning” director Rory Karpf will helm the Ric Flair piece, which is scheduled to air on ESPN sometime this year.

The documentary is in the final editing stages, and will have a runtime of either 90 or 120 minutes. We noted before that tons of pro wrestling names were interviewed for the special, and SI confirmed The Undertaker, Sting, Shawn Michaels, Ricky Steamboat, Jim Ross, Eric Bischoff, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, as well as Flair’s three living children and his first wife Leslie were all interviewed for the special.

The SI piece also revealed that ESPN secured a deal with WWE prior to filming of the special which will allow ESPN to use WWE owned footage, and director Rory Karpf added that WWE has been “very supportive” throughout the life of the project.
