Despite many people taking Finn Balor’s NXT Title loss at last night’s live event in Lowell as a sign he is finished with NXT, that might not necessarily be the case.

The assumption is that Finn Balor is entitled to a rematch, and on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Live it was noted that Balor might continue to work in NXT for another month or so. Last night’s NXT Title change had reportedly been planned for quite sometime now, and while officials had considered other events for the title change to happen, the original plan was for Joe to win the title, then lead up to a big stipulation match between Samoa Joe and Finn Balor at the next Takeover event. The plan had also reportedly been in place before Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows debuted in WWE, and Bryan Alvarez added the following:

“Don’t look so much at what happened on this Lowell, MA house show, but when they tape TV next week, that’s when you should be paying attention because a lot of questions will be answered at those TV tapings.”

For those of you don’t remember, Kevin Owens pulled double duty at SummerSlam last year, as he wrestled Finn Balor in a Ladder Match at NXT Takeover Brooklyn, then appeared at SummerSlam since he had already made his main roster debut.

WWE NXT returns to Full Sail University for the next set of TV tapings next Thursday, and the next Takeover event is on June 8th.
