Last night Dave Meltzer noted in The Wrestling Observer that Shinsuke Nakamura’s NXT deal is somewhat landmark, as he is making “main event” level money.
In a clarification of that report, Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Live today that Nakamura is not making the “millions of dollars” that top talents like John Cena and Randy Orton are making, but rather he is making main roster level money.
In related news, we noted earlier this week that Shinsuke Nakamura revealed during his Japanese WWE signing press conference that a dream opponent for him in WWE is Brock Lesnar.
Nakamura and Lesnar have faced each other before, and it was back in 2006 for Brock Lesnar’s IWGP Heavyweight Title. The the two later trained together, and you can watch footage of the Lesnar vs Nakamura match below:
