On if he thinks there is a chance they have Dean Ambrose win the main event at WWE Fastlane instead of Roman Reigns:
JR: Always a chance. Always a chance. I don’t look for it to happen. I still think the eventual destination for Roman Reigns is to main event WrestleMania. That’s one of the great things about this PPV. If Reigns doesn’t win somebody else goes in. I don’t think Brock Lesnar is the guy. I would ideally rather have Lesnar in the main event. I think he’s “box office.” Brock Lesnar trying to become the WWE Champion is intriguing to me. Especially against somebody that has a body of work like Triple H. You know their match would be very, very good. Probably have a lot of old school properties to it which doesn’t bother me a bit. Anything can happen there. I’m still on the Roman Reigns bandwagon as it’s related to him winning this very uniquely booked triple threat match on Sunday where it’s almost guaranteed just by the way the match is booked that Reigns is going to be the least favorited guy in the match. You aren’t going to get people to boo Lesnar more than likely. You certainly aren’t going to get people to boo the unpredictable Dean Ambrose, in my opinion. I think that you will have some people that will be jeering the designated next top fan favorite. I’ve always said that the way I would book that is I would have Reigns win by unscrupulous means. I think he should be a “Vince McMahon Guy.” I think Vince McMahon should have his issues with Triple H getting “too big for his britches.” He’s created this great brand in NXT and married the boss’ daughter. He’s the heir apparent to the throne and you’ve got this strong willed, 70 year old alpha male who is not ready to step aside. That’s art imitating life in that regard. I still think Reigns is better suited to go in to WrestleMania as the heel and Triple H as the tenured fan favorite. A hold over from The Attitude Era. You’re better off if McMahon can help orchestrate that situation.
On how he thinks AJ Styles has been booked in WWE so far:
JR: I don’t have any issue with it. I thought him being in the Royal Rumble and then doing well in the Rumble, I thought he had a really good performance there. I thought that him being in the Rumble was a good way to introduce him. Somebody is going to say, “Go back to the old school. He didn’t win.” Yeah, he didn’t win. It doesn’t matter. Did he have a great presentation? Did he look good? He looked very good. I don’t have any issues with it. Now they book him with Jericho and how do you not have great matches with Jericho and AJ Styles? How does that match stink? How does that match not hold up to any other match on the card?
