Recently WrestleZone Radio has had the opportunity to interview Jeff & Karen Jarrett from Global Force Wrestling. During their appearances Jeff & Karen each took the time to talk about Global Force Wrestling helping to promote “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s final film The Masked Saint. The film debuts theatrically tomorrow, January 8th.

JJ: Several months ago through a connection, Ridge Rock Entertainment, who produced the film reached out to Global Force and myself. They wanted us to basically be a marketing consultant, marketing arm to market to the wrestling audience. As we worked through the agreement it has turned from basically, “part of a job,” in to a real passion project for me. Multiple reasons. Not in any particular order. One is Roddy Piper and the untimely death of Roddy. All of the circumstances that go in to that. Also, the integrity that the movie The Masked Saint gives to professional wrestling. We’ve all seen good and bad and ups and downs of wrestling “movies”. They (Ridge Rock) treat professional wrestling with such respect and it made me respect them. It’s a great movie. Yes, it’s a faith based movie but it has the element of wrestling. It is a great story, it will appeal to audiences of all ages. It’s a great movie and it’s based on a true story. Chris Whaley was a, I’ll call him a, “journeyman wrestler,” through Florida and different territories. He went to seminary school and became a preacher. Then he went on to pastor a megachurch but he had some struggles that inspired this movie. “Do I leave wrestling? Do I not leave wrestling? How does the church react to it?” All of that. Put all of that together and it’s something that I’m very, very excited that Global Force has partnered with Ridge Rock. The movie comes out Friday January 8th. We have a premiere here in Nashville with a lot of people coming in to it on January 7th. Me and Karen and the kids are very excited about it. The next day, January 8th it’s released nation wide. KJ: The Masked Saint is going to be premiering January 8th, nation wide. It is the last movie that Roddy Piper did before he passed away. It treats the wrestling business with great respect. You see movies and I don’t want to sound they’re hokey but some of the movies wrestlers are in or try to portray wrestling… they’re hokey or they try to make fun of it. They don’t truly portray what the behind the scenes are. What inside the ring is or getting ready in the ring. They did a great job of doing that. Roddy is amazing in it. Brett Granstaff in the film The Masked Saint just did a phenomenal job. It’s a faith based film. It’s not just a wrestling film it’s a faith based film. I encourage every mother and father out there. Even if you are not a wrestling fan to take your kids to see this movie. There’s great wrestling and lessons about life in it.
