Kurt Angle Talks His TNA Farewell Tour, TNA Being The Best Years of His Career, a Possible WWE Return, His Current Health and More

kurt angleTNA star Kurt Angle, who announced on Impact Wrestling last night that he will be embarking on his TNA farewell tour, spoke with The Morning Call yesterday and below are some interview highlights:

On joining TNA after working with the likes of The Rock and Hulk Hogan in WWE:

“By the time I went to TNA, I was in my prime,” Angle says. “And I say this a lot, but a lot of WWE fans, they didn’t see the best part of my career. It’s hard for me to say that, but I can’t lie about the performances I had.

“So  although my career was pretty darned stellar in WWE, I consider TNA, my career here, was actually better. I had better matches.”

On his pro wrestling future following his one year wrestling hiatus:

“I haven’t really discussed anything with anybody about renewing a contract or doing it with TNA or doing it with WWE,” Angle says in a phone call  from his hometown of Pittsburgh.  “I’m not going to think about it and we’ll see where it takes me from  there.”

On a possible WWE return:

“Not at this time. Um, maybe down the road. I’m not really going to contact anybody for a while. So we’ll see where it takes me. But is there a possibility? There’s always a possibility. I could return to TNA or I could go back to WWE. Um, I wouldn’t count either one of them out.”

On neck surgery he had last summer to remove a tumor:

“ I’m doing great, thank you,” he says. “It was benign, it wasn’t cancerous, and I had to have I taken out. It was in there for, gosh, 15 years. It just happened to be that year that I decided to get it taken out. And no, it wasn’t anything serious. … just took me a month or two to get back into gear.”
