Former WCW star Marcus “Buff” Bagwell was a recent guest on the “The Steve Austin Show”, during which Bagwell claimed Jim Ross ruined his career following the 2001 purchase of WCW by WWE.
During the most recent edition of “The Ross Report” podcast, host Jim Ross said he did not hear Bagwell’s comments as he did not listen to the show, and will not listen to the show as he has no interest in hearing himself get buried.
Ross did have the following to say about the situation, however:
“My former job as head of WWE talent relations was often times a thankless job.”
Ross noted that while the perks of his job were to help wrestler’s realize their dreams, and help them secure a great quality of life for themselves and their families, the part of his job requiring him to fire people was definitely the worst part.
“I never relished in firing people and it only makes sense that if a talent could help a company that I wanted them to make it.
I’m sorry Marc feels like he does. I’m sure he believes what’s there is true but I never went out of my way to cause him any misery. I just was the guy that had to deliver the bad news.”
