Daniel Bryan Says He Would Love to See John Cena Turn Heel, Praises The New Day, Wants Kurt Angle to Return to WWE and More

As noted, WWE star Daniel Bryan is currently doing an overseas media tour and he was interviewed on 104.4 Virgin Radio Dubia this morning. The following are some interview highlights:

-With regards to John Cena, Bryan said he would love to see Cena turn heel and he likened a John Cena heel turn to when Hulk Hogan turned heel back in 1996, and how that sparked a boom period for wrestling.

-Bryan praised The New Day and called them “amazingly entertaining” heels. He said they are his favorite act in WWE while Cesaro is his favorite wrestler.

-Despite Kurt Angle saying he will not be pursuing a return to WWE, Bryan said he would love to see Angle return to WWE for one final sendoff run. He said he doesn’t understand why WWE hasn’t brought him back for a short run leading up to WrestleMania, as Angle could have great matches with guys like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

-Bryan told a funny story about him and CM Punk wrestling in Russia against The Wyatt Family. He said the Wyatts were beating down two babyfaces so him and Punk ran down to make the save, and Punk asked Bryan if he wanted to fight the Wyatts right then and there, which would setup Bryan to say his trademarked “YES” and get the crowd involved. Bryan said he responded to Punk with a lethargic “yeah” and Punk told him he’s an idiot.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
