WWE NXT Results (8/5) – Charlotte vs Bayley, Regal Announces Jushin Liger At Takeover, Samoa Joe vs Rhyno!

During a sit-down interview with Michael Cole, Kevin Owens states William Regal being power and stating he wants Finn Bálor to defeat him at Takeover is a conflict of interest. Owens doesn’t trust Regal. Owens wants to have a ladder match for the NXT title to prevent a “Brooklyn Screw Job”. Cole asks Owens if he thinks he can defeat Bálor. Owens gets up and walks away.

Baron Corbin vs Local Talent

After a lock up Corbin hit the End of Days for the win.

If anyone is wondering, this is not the week we find out if Corbin can wrestle or not. Are these squash matches really doing anything to further Corbin? If the reaction he gets from the WWE Universe is any indication, I would think not.

Bayley goes into William Regal’s office and asks for a Woman’s title match at Takeover. Regal tells Bayley that if she defeats Becky Lynch on next week’s show she will get her title shot.
