Just a few minutes before the Legends of Wrestling met with press at Marlins Park in Miami, the Legends of Wrestling heard the news of Rowdy Roddy Piper’s passing. Kevin Nash, Luke Bushwacker, Mick Foley, The Nasty Boys, and Tyrus remember the legend.

The Miami Marlins hosted the Legends of Wrestling, where fans suited up in their best gear resembling their favorite wrestler. But it was a somber moment amongst the legends. Piper died in his home in Hollywood Thursday, but his body was discovered Friday. He was 61.

The Nasty Boys Jerry Sags presented Luke Bushwacker who spent many times on the road with the late professional wrestler.

“We were crying together ten minutes ago,” he said as he presented Luke Bushwacker. “Luke and Bush were on the road with him since the early sixties and they are best friends with Roddy from Portland or wherever here and back around the country.

An emotional Luke Bushwacker remembered his friend.

“I just spoke to Roddy about two weeks ago to lift his spirits because he moved from Oregon to down to L.A. close to the business since he had full business in there great guy. I have many road stories to tell but now at the moment is a sad time seeing a good friend of mine pass away.”

Many of the legends were reportedly very emotional at tonight’s event.
