It’s time for the Takeover: Brooklyn contract signing. William Regal is already out to the ring, followed by NXT Champion Finn Balor. Kevin Owens comes out and gets into it with a couple of fans at ringside. Regal wants to get this over and done with, but of course that’s not going to happen. Owens asks Finn “how does it feel” to be the champion, and to defend the title in the biggest main event in NXT history, at next month’s show in Brooklyn. He says all the rumors are true – he did cripple Sami Zayn, he did win the title within two months of being in WWE, and he did beat John Cena. Owens says Japan was a fluke, and will become the first ever two-time NXT champion, and take Finn Balor for good.
Balor says Owens is all talk. They end up going at it, William Regal goes down to the floor, but Balor mounts a comeback and fights off the former champion. Balor stands tall in the ring as Owens retreats.
