Security Officer Sues 12 WWE Wrestlers For Injuries; Suit Claims Injuries Due To Negligence By WWE

wwe rawAccording to Courthouse News Service a former Savannah Civic Center security guard in Savannah, Georgia is suing WWE and several Superstars after he was hit with a steel chair at a WWE live event in 2013.

The suit, filed in June, says guard Troy Rivers was unexpectedly hit in the head, neck and back with a steel chair at the WWE live event in Savannah. The suit names twelve wrestlers including John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Ryback, Cody Rhodes, Kane, R-Truth and Damien Sandow, and is because Rivers is actually unsure who hit him. He thinks it was Dean Ambrose, but his attorney Kevin Elwell is suing each Superstar competing that night.

Rivers’ attorney Kevin Elwell said:

“We haven’t reviewed the video from the event yet, so we’re bringing in everyone on the card that night. Only one guy did it, but we don’t know which one yet.”

Rivers is claiming the incident left him with serious and permanent injuries, including his wife Mary, a plaintiff, saying she has been deprived of “conjugal fellowship” with her husband. Rivers is also claiming he is suffering from “physical and mental anguish, diminishment of his earning capacity, and continues to suffer a loss of enjoyment of life” due to negligence on WWE’s part.

Rivers is seeking unspecified compensation; WWE is denying knowledge of an incident involving Rivers or his employer, and says the attorney admitted he has no basis to sue.
