Speculation On Former TNA World Champion Returning To Impact Wrestling Tonight, Rumored Knockouts Return At This Week’s TV Tapings

According to the hints given by TNA Wrestling, the referee in tonight’s World Heavyweight Championship match between Eric Young and champion Kurt Angle is not on the current roster.

While a number of names have come up as to who it is, you can mostly likely cross a few names of former TNA Champions off the list. Sting, who recently appeared at WWE’s Wrestlemania 31 is not being considered, since he’s expected to keep working with WWE, including an appearance at Comic Con Philly this weekend.

Samoa Joe, Rob Van Dam and Mick Foley’s names all came up, but they are or will be working with WWE in the future so they aren’t expected. Finally, Chris Sabin and AJ Styles’ names were also brought up, but their new success with Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling, respectively, would in all likelihood keep both of them away.

Bully Ray is the only name that’s really left who doesn’t have anything in the way of him returning to TNA. It doesn’t seem like WWE wants to sign Bully or Team 3D together, and this coupled with the rumors of Velvet Sky, Bully’s girlfriend, making her return at this week’s TNA tapings makes it likely he will be the referee.
