TNA Impact Wrestling Results (4/24) – TKO Night Of Knockouts, The Dollhouse Debuts, Taryn Vs Kong!

Austin Aries says it’s time for him to go cash in, then he goes to enter the building and meets Eric Young at the door. Eric pulls his suitcase out and heads outside, and Aries says Eric can have the first title shot after he wins.

Austin Aries makes his entrance for his title match, but Eric Young runs in from the crowd and knocks Aries down. He hits Aries with his briefcase and sends him outside, then he hits Aries with a piledriver on the floor. Security runs out but Eric knocks him out, then he piledrives Aries on the steps as Kurt Angle runs out. Kurt shoves Eric and tells him to leave, then he goes to check on Aries but Eric attacks from behind. Eric stomps Kurt’s head into the ring steps, then he takes Kurt’s knee brace off and slams a chair into his legs. Eric busts Kurt open, then he puts him in a Figure Four and refuses to let go as referees run out as the show closes.

BP: I was initially pissed out the title match tease, but Eric made up for all of it with the execution of it all. The whole thing built to Eric snapping again and justified a heel’s claims so it was well written.

Overall, the in-ring content was good, but this show was a bit disappointing. They promoted this as a Knockouts heavy show, but it felt like a balanced show on a PPV. I actually would have preferred it if they presented this as a Knockouts Knockdown type of show and added a few more women’s matches, and saved some of the men’s stuff for next week. TNA has taken a chance on many themed shows already, and they should have had a few more women on the show. I would have have a mini contender’s tournament instead of a women’s four way; that gets you three total matches that could build throughout the show.
