Live Notes From “WrestleMania Today” WWE Network Special: Ric Flair Talks Sting & HHH, Orton Sit-Down Interview & More

wrestlemaniaThe first edition of WrestleMania Today began airing on the WWE Network this afternoon. The panel was hosted by Michael Cole, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T and NXT announcer Corey Graves.

The show is mostly a run-down of the WrestleMania match card and Hall of Fame line-up, and the panelists giving their predictions, broken up with special guests.

-Bad News Barrett joined the panel for an interview about the Intercontinental Championship ladder match.

-They aired an excellent pre-recorded interview between Booker T and Randy Orton. It was very dramatic, filmed documentary-style, and Orton did emphasize that he never received a rematch for the WWE title after losing it at WrestleMania XXX.

-Ric Flair joined the show to talk about his history with both Sting and Triple H, and preview their match at WrestleMania. Cole tried to say Sting hadn’t wrestled in “I don’t know how long”, but Flair cut him off and said Sting was wrestling once a week “down there” for the last ten years, obviously referring to TNA.

The Miz and Damien Mizdow show up, but Curtis Axel cuts them off and rants about Axelmania. Booker T looks like he’s going to punch him in the face. Miz got into it with Graves, saying “that’s why you never made it to WWE”. He also took a shot at Alex Riley for “being in a developmental territory” because he walked away from The Miz.

Seth Rollins has a sit-down interview with Booker T, produced the same as the Orton interview. Go out of your way to watch these.

-Paige joins the show. Fun note – she won the Divas title the night after WrestleMania XXX, and is now competing in her first WrestleMania match less than one year later.

-They show footage from Brock Lesnar on ESPN saying he “loves what he does”, which just strikes me as odd because it comes across as them pushing Lesnar as a babyface.

The show ends with the panel giving their predictions on Lesnar vs. Reigns. Cole brazenly claims that “Reigns has no chance at beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.” Good luck with that.

Corey Graves will be on WrestleMania Today tomorrow, but apparently Cole and Booker T will be elsewhere.
