Jim Ross Reveals Interest in Calling NJPW’s Famous Tokyo Dome Show, Talks College Football Broadcasting Aspirations & More

jim rossBrian Fritz of SportingNews.com recently spoke with WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross regarding upcoming projects and his broadcasting future.

During the interview, Ross reveals he is very interested in calling College Football games, and expresses interest in returning to Pro Wrestling to call New Japan’s famous, annual Tokyo Dome event.

As we reported yesterday, it appears as if the 2015 Tokyo Dome show might be branded as a Global Force Wrestling event, which could see the show broadcast, for the first time, on United States PPV.

On the possibility of calling New Japan Pro Wrestling, Jim Ross had the following to say:

“I’m very interested in doing special projects and that certainly would be on that list of a special project,” Ross said. “And I think if they were serious about their marketing of their pay-per-views — and I guess their big show is January 4th — that if they were really serious about that event being a hit in the English-speaking countries, that I might be able to help them.”

Ross, however, admitted no deal is currently on the table between him and NJPW:

“I have had no (contact) with the decision-makers within the New Japan organization, we have yet to engage in any discussions,” he said.
