Last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw called for the Wyatt Family to reestablish themselves as a dominant presence to the WWE locker room. Vince McMahon himself made changes to the Raw script, writing John Cena to go over all three of them, effectively no-selling the attacks of the “most one-sided beating in WWE history” just two weeks ago at SummerSlam. Speaking of Cena, apparently he’s dealing with some nagging injuries and has been working through the pain. There may be a plan for him to take some time off after the inevitable beating his receives at Night of Champions.
- TNA and Wrestle-1 have both started announcing talent for the October Bound for Glory PPV. Great Muta, Yoshihiro Tajiri, James Storm, Sanada, Manik, and the Wolves are among them.
- Speaking of Manik, TNA announced that he’s signed a new deal with the company.
- Hornswoggle has heat with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I’d like to see that fight go down…
- Hulk Hogan called Steve Austin a bitch. So that’s a thing.
- Dean Ambrose will be out through Night of Champions, as he’s currently filming a WWE Studios movie that wraps up the night before. He may make a surprise run-in at the PPV itself.
- TNA released a few office employees and backstage workers, including Jimmy Jay (high five!). WWE apparently did the same with one of their merchandising people.
- We’ve got the full press release for El Rey’s new “Lucha Underground” series, plus details on the first US talents signed to contracts, and former WWE/TNA names expected to appear.
- Rob Van Dam is done with his latest WWE run. He may come back in the future, but he noted on Twitter that he was done “for better or for worse.” Whatever that means.
- Ryback was injured in the past two weeks – or maybe he wasn’t, we’re not really sure… – but probably won’t be out for too long. A couple of months at most.
