Former WWE Stars at “Lucha Underground”
As we reported earlier this afternoon, the El Rey Network announced the debut of Lucha Underground, a new English-language wrestling program that has partnered with AAA. The first taping will be held on 9/6 in Los Angeles, and will include five popular talents from the AAA promotion.
In addition, F4WOnline.com is reporting that several wrestling names familiar to U.S. fans are expected for the premiere taping event, including former John Hennigan (former WWE Superstar John Morrison), Ricky Reyes, Joey Ryan, Candice LeRae, Chavo Guerrero, Hernandez, and former Tough Enough contestant Ivelisse Velez.
Update: Konnan Undergoes Surgery
Konnan underwent a successful hip replacement surgery following the TripleMania PPV last weekend, and is currently at home recovering. He is expected to be at the Lucha Underground taping on 9/6, and involved with the project, but will not be the head booker for the show as he is in AAA.
