TNA Impact Wrestling Results (8/27) – Chris Melendez Debut, Title Picture Clears Up, Tag Team Championship Series Begins!

Gunner and Samuel Shaw are shown hanging out in Gunner’s apartment, and they talk about what happened with Ken Anderson before Gunner says it’s OK. He tells Shaw to let it go and walks away, then Shaw sees his military uniforms and tries one on. Gunner comes back and catches him, and Shaw salutes him, but Gunner tells him to take it off now, or he will.

Tigre Uno, Crazzy Steve & Low Ki vs Manik, DJ Z & Homicide

Uno hits a dropkick and chops Zema, then he catches Manik with a backbreaker before heading up top. Zema crotches him on the ropes and tags Homicide, then Low Ki sends him outside and hurricanranas Manik. He dropkicks Manik in the corner and fights off an octopus stretch, then double stomps Manik on the way down. Homicide blocks a Ki Crusher attempt but Steve sends him outside, then he dives on him outside before Uno sends Zema outside. Manik runs in and goes for a double underhook but he gets sent outside, then Ki comes back with a springboard thrust kick and a Ki Crusher for the win.

Winners – Tigre Uno, Crazzy Steve & Low Ki

Bobby Roode comes out and says he left Kurt Angle’s office with a decision on the World Title picture, and there will be another number one contender’s match. He says he and Eric Young will go one-on-one, then he calls Eric to the ring and talks about their history together. Roode says they have to battle one more time, but it’s for the right reason, and he will be at his absolute best because that’s the only way he will win. Eric says he was the fans’ champion and he brought his best, but fate brought them together again and he always says Roode is the best wrestler around. He says his answer will never change, but he also knows he’s just as good as Roode, and he will be better next week, so Roode says they will tear the roof off of this place.

BP: Good segment with the announcement. I really have no complaints. Roode and EY sell the match with their history, and they both have the skills to deliver.
