The Latest Backstage Details on Emma’s Arrest; Timeline of Events, How/When She Was Pulled From a Raw Segment & More

emma's arrestAs we have been reporting throughout the week, WWE Diva Emma was arrested last week Monday, was released from WWE on Wednesday, and was later reinstated the same day.

The following are all the latest backstage details on Emma's arrest and subsequent punishment, according to The Wrestling Observer.

Tenille "Emma" Dashwood was arrested last Monday in Hartford, CT, for shoplifting an iPad case valued at $21.14. She was arrested at approximately 1pm EST and charged with 6th degree larceny, a Class C misdemeanor, which means the value of the item stolen was under $250. Dashwood was processed and released from police custody at around 2:15pm EST Monday afternoon. She then returned to the XL Center, the site of Raw that night.

WWE had been preparing to tape the segment featuring Santino Marella and Adam Rose, which aired later that night on Raw, at 3pm EST. Emma had already practiced doing the backwards fall into the arms of the Rosebuds, a spot which ended up being performed by Santino. At around 4pm, WWE producer Brian James, aka Road Dogg, informed Dashwood she had to leave and the segment was shot without her. Dashwood was told to head to a luxury suite for a meet and greet with sponsors, and following that she remained backstage for the rest of the Raw broadcast.

At the time she was pulled from the backstage Raw segment, most WWE talents were unaware of Emma's arrest, and had no idea why she didn't participate in the pre-taped scene. When news of her arrest eventually broke, most people in WWE believed her story, which was that she did not shoplift intentionally, given her current income in WWE.

Dashwood was released from WWE on Wednesday, only to be reinstated by the company on the same day, although WWE has noted she will be punished in some fashion. Dashwood was sentenced to a few hours of community service, and was told all charges would be dropped and her record would be cleared pending completion of the community service.

Emma's arrest was picked up by mainstream news outlets such as The Daily Mail and TMZ, but Dashwood's lawyer maintains the defense that she simply made a mistake and forgot to pay for the item at the self-checkout area.
