Sheamus does a front rolling senton and clotheslines his opponent over the top rope. He uses his free time to stare down Paul Heyman, who yells about being an advocate and not a wrestler. Sheamus goes back to work on Barrett, flying off the apron with a shoulder tackle. Wade kicks the steps into his knees and rolls back in the ring. The ref starts counting as we head to commercial.
We're back, and they're still going at it, so I assume no count-out. They are trading fists again, and Sheamus gets the better of it this time. He throws a high running knee, shades of Harley Race, which Cole picks up on. Barrett actually superkicks Sheamus – seriously – who responds by getting back up and hitting a backbreaker. This time he does hit Ten Beats on the apron, but Barrett hits the Winds of Change side slam out of nowhere.
Barrett goes for Wasteland, but Sheamus rolls out of it with a crucifix pin – Barrett kicks out, and Sheamus hits the Brogue Kick for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Sheamus
-After his win Sheamus grabs his title and rolls to the outside, grabbing Paul Heyman by the throat. Heyman screams that he's just an advocate, and that he has small children at home. He wishes Sheamus well on Sunday, and the champ stares a hole in him before leaving to celebrate his victory with the fans.
KILLAM: That was a very good back and forth brawl. I like a fight between two fights, rather than them trying to stumble through a technical masterpiece. They did a GREAT job hyping both the US and IC titles during the broadcast, making me really look forward to this match, and it's always nice when the performers deliver on a good build-up. Both the mid card titles look strong heading into Payback, which will be the first time both are defended on PPV for quite some time. I wouldn't be surprised if this is heading towards Cesaro winning both titles on down the line and unifying them.
