Bray Wyatt comes out and sings, then he says a snakebite can only be cured with some antivenom. He asks the fans if he's the snake or the antivenom, but he says he is the evil this world needs, and they can stand with him. Bray says his enemies will fall, and it's clear John Cena is an enemy to them all, but he will be the last man standing at Payback. He says Cena shouldn't be the only one punished, so you have to go through the pawns to get to the king. Bray says king is appropriate since he wants to have a word with Jerry Lawler, but King says no so Rowan and Harper corner him. Bray tells JBL and Cole to stay out of it, but JBL heads for the ring, only to get slammed into the broadcast table by Harper.
Rowan whips JBL and Harper hits a lariat, then King reluctantly gets in the ring and Bray tells him to hurry. He tells King to sit so he can ask him some questions, and he says Jerry has helped Cena attain some of his goals. He says King feeds the fans lies about Cena overcoming and winning, but Bray says he should have questioned Cena because he is full of lies. Bray says it's out of control now and King should feel guilty, and this is now part of the necessary evil he's talking about. Rowan and Harper lift King up as Bray prepares to attack, but John Cena runs out and tries to run them off. Rowan and Harper beat down Cena while Bray makes King watch, then Bray tells Cena he will end him at Payback, but now he needs to watch this.
He says it's all Cena's fault, then Bray prepares for Sister Abigail on King but The Usos run out and make the save. Cena says he's had enough and Bray crossed the line, which is a shame because people were excited to see him arrive. Cena says Bray got a taste of power and it made him sick, because he just attacked an innocent man for having different views. He says it's not necessary, that's just plain evil, and Cena says Bray needs to be stopped. Cena says it doesn't matter who likes it because it needs to happen. He says Bray has attacked him for what he believes, but he will serve justice on Sunday, and while justice may be blind, Bray's payback will be a bitch.
BP: Compelling stuff here. Usually involving King is a cheap heat magnet, but this worked seamlessly and was effective. Kudos to JBL taking the bump, too. People may gripe about the commentary team, but they played their roles well here, as did the Superstars involved.
