Chad Dukes of CBS Radio Washington DC 106.7 The Fan and ChadDukesWrestling.com interviewed artist Rob Schamberger, the man responsible for the great wrestling paintings that WWE sells on their Auction site and many have shared online.
In this interview, Schamberger tells how he got hooked up with WWE, the process, his interaction with the WWE Superstars, his favorite painting subjects, the charity work of he and WWE, and more.

On getting into Wrestling and choosing it a his subject:
"I didn’t actually get into wrestling until I was about 18 and, like every of the young man living on his own I was at my parent’s doing laundry and my stepfather was looking through the channels and landed on Ric Flair doing a promo on Nitro and was hooked. Then I started watching Raw every every week since. I worked as a illustrator and comic book artist for several years with not a lot of success, and decided to get into the more gallery side of things and wanted to have a subject matter that set me apart from everyone else and realized no one was doing that with wrestling. It just took off like crazy pretty much from the start."
On a coming boom:
"I think what I’m tapping into is something that happened with comic books and super heroes a few years back where all the sudden it was okay to say you liked Spider-Man. I think that’s about to happen with wrestling. We’re one or two years out from that happening."
Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.
