#1 Contender's NXT Battle Royal
Everyone that's not Adrian Neville is participating in this one, including Sami Zayn returning to action, Xavier Woods and Bo Dallas, who is apparently still around.
Oliver Grey is the first to go, compliments of Brodus Clay. Curt Hawkins follows, also thanks to Brodus. The entire roster gets together to dump Brodus over the top early on. You'd think they would want to save him for the end. Danny Burch is next, and Bo Dallas chucks Aiden English right on top of him.
After a commercial break, we see that El Local is laying on the floor. Xavier Woods gets tossed over the ropes but saves himself using the stairs – shades of the great battle royaler Kofi Kingston! Mason Ryan is being talked up as the guy to win now that Brodus is gone – since he doesn't have a job, I kind of doubt it. Kalisto and Sylvester Lefort are tossed over the ropes. Camacho and Xavier Woods start a knife-edge chop contest, which Woods wins. He clotheslines Camacho over the ropes, but getes a bit too fired up about it and eliminates himself in the process. Great job.
Big Corbin gets an elimination over somebody I didn't catch. Come to think of it, I don't see the Ascension in this match; probably to keep them "safe". Bo Dallas takes advantage of the distraction and eliminates Corbin. He also eliminates Yoshi Tatsu – who still has a job – which gets the first huge boo from the crowd. Mason Ryan now eliminated by Dallas. Bo with a fourth elimination in a row, but turns around and gets kicked over the ropes by Tyson Kidd!
The match is down to Tyler Breeze, Sami Zayn and Tyson Kidd. Breeze with the Beauty Shot on Kidd, but he's knocked out cold and Tyler can't pick him up. Breeze and Zayn start going at it as a giant "ole!" chant breaks out. Sami saves himself by rebounding off the ropes. He gets thrown to the outside again, but skins the cat and once again saves himself. Tyson recovers and now both him and Zayn are hanging. Tyson headscissors Breeze and his weight knocks them ALL off the apron, hitting the floor at the same time! Everyone is eliminated!
Winner: ….nobody?
-Triple H comes out as the three of them start shoving each other, argueing over who won the match. He announces a triple threat match NEXT WEEK, and the winner will face Adrian Neville at NXT Takeover. Awesome.
KILLAM: That was a great, unexpected and excellent way to both end that fun battle royal, and set up a huge must-see match for next week. I absolutely love it. A good episode of NXT tonight.
