Jonathan Coachman Close To New Deal With WWE?, NXT Looking To Run Live Events During WrestleMania 31 Weekend

While this might not have anything to do with Coach's "really cool" announcement he has coming up, The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE is either close to a deal or has already signed Jonathan Coachman to a new part-time contract.

The new deal would allow for Coach to continue his work with ESPN, but do part-time studio work with WWE. One idea being thrown around is to have Coachman host a talk show for the new WWE Network.

NXT To Run Live Mania Events

WWE is considering running some NXT live events in the San Jose area next year during WrestleMania weekend, suggests a new report by The Wrestling Observer. One of the reasons these events might take place is to counter some of the independent wrestling shows that generally take place in the same city as WrestleMania every year.

We've reported in the past that WWE had been working out deals with other major venues in future WrestleMania cities and the surrounding areas, making it difficult for indy promoters to book their own events.

It's being said that independent promotions Evolve and Dragon Gate USA have already secured locations for WrestleMania weekend in 2015, but others that frequently run shows have not. One promoter even told The Observer that his annual event had to be booked over an hour away as it was the closest he could find for next year.
