Update: WWE Main Event Will Continue Airing Exclusively on the WWE Network; Note on Time Change for Future Episodes

wwe main eventTonight, WWE Main Event aired live on the WWE Network for the first time, with an advertised main event of Daniel Bryan vs. Kane. You can ready our full and exclusive live coverage and review of the 3/4 Main Event on Wrestlezone.com

During the broadcast it was announced that the WWE Network would exclusively play host to Main Event starting this week, and continuing on for the foreseeable future. However, a time change was announced, and Main Event will be airing live every week at 8PM ET. This means that technically the show will not be completely live – they will be in the middle of a Smackdown taping during that block – but it will be much closer than the usual Wednesday night slot on ION Television.

At this time we don't have an update on the future of Main Event on ION, but we do know that WWE's contract with the broadcast group expires in April, following WrestleMania XXX, and a renewal doesn't look likely. What is likely is that WWE will continue to show Main Event on the WWE Network each week as an exclusive show, as they do NXT every Thursday.
