CM Punk comes out and says if he was John Cena he would come out and talk about Independence Day and make a heartfelt speech, but he's not like that. He says the fans are lucky for that, but he does like this holiday because he likes independence and people fighting for what they believe in. Punk says his first instinct is to break a rule, and he wants to go against popular opinion so he took some time off and told Paul Heyman to stay away. Punk says he also has the odds against him at Money In The Bank, but he wants to tell everyone off that doubts him, and he has two goals right now. First, he will get back at Brock Lesnar for attacking him, and the second is to win the Money In The Bank match and take back his title.
Punk says these are his two goals and he has no problem telling them this, then Alberto Del Rio cuts him off and says he was expecting more from him. Punk mocks him and says he was expecting a cool car from Alberto, then he asks what he wants and Alberto tells him that this is his show. He walks in the ring as Punk says this isn't his show, title or no title, so he asks what his business is and Alberto says of course Punk just makes jokes. Alberto says these people celebrate by stuffing their faces and sit around, and all they do with their freedom is go on the internet and get fatter and fatter. Alberto says if that's not bad enough, they cheer a pig like Dolph Ziggler, who ruined his party, and they chant 'U-S-A.'
Alberto says they chant because they are sheep, then Punk says Alberto was the guy that only a few weeks ago would chant with them and talk about opportunity. Punk says they saw through his charade and boo him for being a phony, then Alberto says Punk is all bark and someone needs to teach him. Alberto says he's the World Heavyweight Champion and Punk congratulates him, but he says all it means is that Alberto is number one contender to his title, the best in the world. Alberto gets pissed and tries to order him out of the ring, and Punk says he will stay until Alberto makes him leave. Teddy Long comes out and says they will have fireworks in the main event, and Alberto will face Punk tonight.
